On personal front, I’m a father of two, which has taught me more about patience and negotiation than any deal ever did. I workout because it’s the one hour of the day where nothing is ambiguous. I love reading non fictions, and I write up the parts that changed how I think rather than reviewing the book. I garden occasionally, under my wife’s coaching and instructions. And I spend a fair amount of time figuring out life, which so far is going about as well as the gardening.

Professionally, I’ve spent a long time explaining complicated systems to people who are tired.

Sales Engineering leader by profession, I realize one thing that no one wake up in the morning to buy your product. I learned that the slow way. Early on I thought the job was knowing more about the product than anyone else in the room, but it isn’t. The job is listening closely enough that the right answer becomes obvious eventually to both of us.

This site is where I think out loud without anyone’s approval process. I am no writer by profession who knows all the tweaks and weeds of writing content but I write to find out whether I actually understand something and to clear my thought process.

Some of what’s here is technical. Startups taught me how much you can get done with almost nothing. Enterprises taught me how long a good idea can sit in a queue. I’ve worked in both and I’m still surprised by what actually ships.

Some of it has nothing to do with work, including gardening, reading, or sharing any life experiences.

The day job: Solutions Architect at Oxide Computer. Ten years before that doing similar work at other companies. Long enough to have been publicly wrong a few times and survive it.
